Last Hope

Lightning struck the ground ferociously. FireFoxes ran everywhere. How was lightning there with no storm? It was the fierce clan of the SparkFoxes. One FireFox was named Riley; she desperately carried her kit, Devin, while stumbling along with the crowd as they fled from the SparkFoxes. Warriors battled against them, but their power was greater than the mighty fighters. During the middle of it all, one fox got pushed over and fell on Riley. She let go of Devin and he flew away from her while she was under the big fox. Desperately, she scrambled back up after the fox got off of her and tried to run and get Devin. (You know where this is going, don’t you?) But the torrent of foxes running in the opposite direction made her get knocked back. Devin lie there, unaware that his life was changed forever.
The next day some people were going through the forest, looking at the damage done. They walked along and heard a mewing noise, kind of like a cry. They followed the sound, which led to little baby Devin, who was crying. There was a small girl there, named Amy, she saw and, “Can we keep him please?” she pleaded to her parents, “He’s just a little baby fox!”
“I’m sorry but when he grows up he’ll vicious and dangerous” replied the adults. (Devin looked nothing like a FireFox, he had no fire on his tail and he looked just like a regular fox)
“So, what if it was a little baby boy?” she snapped, “You wouldn’t say that if it was!”
“It’s different that way,” said the parents. And after a few minutes of  silent discussion, they came to a conclusion. ”You can keep him, but only until he is old enough to go into the wild”
“YAY!!” cheered Amy “Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!”
So for the next 10 years, Devin and Amy became best friends. For the first few weeks Amy did everything with Devin. She walked with Devin, she talked to Devin, she even NAMED him Devin. (weird huh? XD) Then, after the first month, Amy went  to Devin’s bed and his tail was on fire. She panicked and called for her dad.
“Daddy! Daddy! Devin’s tail is on fire!!”
“WHAT??” her dad grabbed the extinguisher and ran to Devin’s bed. He was awake now and looking at them as if saying, What’s the big deal guys? What’s wrong?
The two humans calmed down a little bit, because Devin’s tail just kept on burning, the flame didn’t get bigger nor smaller. It didn’t make smoke, or burn anything it just was a flame.
Then after six months, Amy woke up and blah, blah, blah, when she went to check on Devin, and he looked like a small boy. Amy freaked out, called her dad, and he came rushing in.
“What’s wrong with him this time…oh” said her dad “This is not your average fox Amy, I think I know what he is” Amy’s father was an expert on urban legends. “Amy I think Devin is a FireFox” he said and showed an artist’s drawing in a book about them, “I didn’t think they were real” he said “But I was wrong”
“Oh. Daddy, what are we going to do with him then?” asked Amy.
“We are going to have to keep him a secret, you can’t tell anybody about him Amy, do you understand?”
“Yes Daddy”
